Rev. Charles Payne has pastored Calvary Baptist Church for 35 years. He is commonly known as “Cleburne’s Pastor!” He is a graduate of Liberty Bible Institute! He and his wife Judy have three grown daughters. He is also proud of his 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Youth Pastor
Our Youth Pastor, Earl Sides has been at Calvary for over 8 years. Bro. Earl is a Cleburne native that knows Cleburne, the people and teenagers well. He attended Arlington Baptist College and is a graduate of Faith Bible Institute. He is currently working on his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University. He has 25 years of experience working with teenagers all over the country. He has spoken at several camps and rallies throughout the country. Along with his wife Niki, he has a passion and love for teenagers. The Sides’ have three boys, Cody, Colin, and Christian.

Minister of Music
Eddy Carrell and his wife, Pam have been faithful church members since 1987. He is a graduate of Faith Bible Institute, Monroe, Louisiana. He has served as a deacon, children’s minister, bus director, and teacher. He currently is serving full time as Minister of Music and Bus Ministry. The Carrells have two grown children, Justin and Marci.

Educational Director
Donnie Williams has been on our staff since 1983, serving in various capacities. He is a native of Cleburne and ‘grew up’ in our church. Donnie is the former Pastor of two successful churches for over nine years and the former County Auditor of Johnson County for over fourteen years. He holds a Graduate of Theology from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Mo. and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas. Donnie and his loving wife, Elaine, enjoy and love directing the ministries of the Auditorium Bible Class of our church. Donnie also directs our Sunday school ministry.
Secretary
Pam Carrell has served as a faithful AWANA leader and secretary since 1993. She has been church secretary since 1997.
HomeBuilders Director
Dwight Phillips directs the HomeBuilders Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to a Sunday school class, this ministry includes small group Bible studies for men, women, and couples. Dwight is also the Awana Commander. He has been married to his lovely wife for 21 years. They have four wonderful children, Lauren, David, Matthew, and John. Dwight is a graduate of UTA, Faith Bible Institute, and has earned his Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary & University.
