Brooks Monk – Pastor

Rev. Brooks Monk began pastoring Calvary Baptist Church in November 2013 bringing 30 years of full-time ministry experience.  He is a graduate of Arlington Baptist College with graduate work from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Trinity Baptist College.  He pastored in Jacksonville, Fla., from 1996-2013.  After completing the Educator’s Preparation Institute of the University of North Florida in 2010, he also taught high school music and history at Douglas Anderson School Arts from 2010-2013.  Pastor Monk served as the Minister of Music in Richland Hills, Texas, from 1986-1996 and taught music and Bible at Arlington Baptist College from 1993-1996.  He and his wife, Betty consider it a great honor and privilege to serve at Calvary. 


Charles E. Payne – Pastor Emeritus

Rev. Charles Payne pastored Calvary Baptist Church, Cleburne for 36 years.  He was named Pastor Emeritus in July 2013; upon retirement he began pastoring Calvary’s satellite ministry in Grandview, Texas.  He is a graduate of Liberty Bible Institute.  Pastor Payne and his wife, Judy are well-known and loved residents of the community and Pastor Payne has been referred to as “Cleburne’s Pastor”. After 40 years at Calvary Cleburne and Calvary Grandview he has retired from the pastorate and is now on staff as Director of Outreach in Cleburne.


Lee Wallace – Director of Music and Children’s Ministry

Lee Wallace became the Children’s Pastor and Music Director of Calvary Baptist Church in July 2014.  A native Texan and pastor’s son, he grew up in Lake Wales, Fla., where his father is the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church.  He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 10, and surrendered for full-time ministry while attending the Wilds Youth Camp as a teenager.  He studied music at Pensacola Christian College, where he met his wife, Karrie.  He also studied music at Troy University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from Landmark Baptist College.  He was ordained for the ministry in 2005 and served as the Student Ministries Pastor and Music Director for 20 years at Trinity Baptist Church of Lake Wales, Fla., in addition to speaking at many youth and children’s camps.


Donnie Williams – Adult Ministry

Donnie Williams has served in various capacities at Calvary since 1983.  He is a Cleburne native and has been a member of Calvary most of his life.  Donnie pastored two churches for over nine years and served as the County Auditor of Johnson County for fourteen years.  He is a graduate of Baptist Bible College and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from LeTourneau University.  Donnie and his wife Elaine enjoy directing the ministries of the Auditorium Bible Class.


Betty Monk – Pastor’s Assistant and Records Management

Betty Monk has served in ministry with her husband, Pastor Brooks Monk, for over 30 years.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from the University of North Florida and has studied at Arlington Baptist College. Betty has over 30 years of professional experience in banking, insurance and higher education where she has worked in various positions including procedures analyst, administrative assistant and coordinator in the University of North Florida’s College of Business Dean’s office.  She now serves as the Pastor’s assistant and is responsible for records management.
